"If you believe it's time to put principles above parties, character above campaign promises, and Common Sense above all -- then I ask you to read this book...."

In any era, great Americans inspire us to reach our full potential. They know with conviction what they believe within themselves. They understand that all actions have consequences. And they find commonsense solutions to the nation's problems.

One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America's future -- and, ultimately, her freedom.

Nearly two and a half centuries later, those very freedoms once again hang in the balance. And now, Glenn Beck revisits Paine's powerful treatise with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government's easy solutions, two-part monopoly, and illogical methods and take back our great country.

"1/4 of amazon raters gave this book a 1 star for a good reason" 2009-07-21
By Laurie B
When I see that Amazon always lists this book first when I go to the Kindle store even though 1/4th of the raters rated it one star, I realize that Amazon must have a political agenda in promoting this thoroughly destructive book. My opinion of Amazon has gone way down.

"Fine for Glenn Beck fans" 2009-07-21
By Fred Coulter (DeLand, FL)
This is a fun book for Glenn Beck fans, but not so good for those who don't already agree with him.

Basically, the majority of the book reads like an extended version of one of his diatribes. If you agree with him, as I generally do, you'll enjoy the book.

However, if you don't agree with him, the book is not well supported with strong arguments and facts. It's not that Beck doesn't have good arguments and facts, just that he makes jumps that are not well jumped in the dark.

"Why buy it? Amazon can just delete it at any time" 2009-07-20
By David W. Stratton (Chaseburg, WI USA)
Why would anyone buy a Kindle book from Amazon when Amazon has made it VERY clear from their recent '1984' and 'Animal Farm' debacle that they reserve the right to completely delete your purchase at any time? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point of buying something is to make it YOURS, so that you can do with it whatever you please, not to borrow it for a brief period of time until the person who loaned it to you feels like arbitrarily taking it back. What a terrible idea! Down with Kindle, and down with Amazon!

 "MUST READ" 2009-07-20
By C. Cox (Southwest)
Sometimes you read a book or a newspaper article that is so important and relavent that you just have to say so. This is a MUST READ for everyone.

This is how we felt after reading this book. We read political books ususally with a grain of salt, having found out that the material depends on the political party or author's own viewpoint.

This book appears hastily put together but after reading Mr. Beck's portion of the book, we felt so strongly that we went back to Amazon and bought this book for several of our friends and family from both sides of the isle (Democrat and Republican). Since we are retired on a fixed income, this was not a casual choice.

We have wondered what happened to our nation's 'Common Sense'?

Also included is Thomas Paine's "COMMON SENSE".

"A case study for psychiatrists everywhere" 2009-07-20
By Sharon (Maryland)
Glenn Beck is certifiably insane and this book confirms the diagnosis. He should be studied by psychiatrists in training all across this country due to his unusually pronounced personality disorder. Save your money. Better yet, donate it to research in hopes that someday, a cure will be found for him.
