Bad memory can cause anything from annoying error messages to complete system failures. Why risk it with cheap "mystery" memory? When you buy memory from Crucial, you're buying the same high-quality memory that leading computer manufacturers install in the systems they sell. In fact, because Crucial is a division of Micron, one of the world's largest DRAM manufacturers, chances are good that you have their memory in your system right now. While the "other guys" might claim to manufacture memory, they really just assemble modules out of chips made by someone else. Some don't have first-class assembly procedures, and some even use chips that failed to meet computer manufacturer's stringent testing requirements. Crucial memory goes through much more rigorous testing procedures than many other brands of memory. Some memory assemblers choose to accept a certain "defect rate" because it's cheaper to deal with returns than to test every part they sell. That may help their bottom line, but it's sure a pain in the neck if you're one of the customers who ends up with a bad module. That's why Crucial thoroughly tests EVERY module they sell and put their name only on the ones that meet their strict standards. You might expect memory this good to cost a lot more, but you'd be wrong. As an online memory upgrade provider selling directly from the manufacturer, Crucial memory is often available at lower prices than lower-quality modules.

"Great memory upgrade for my Dell 4600" 2008-06-07
By James C. (Orange County, CA USA)
This is truly an excellent memory upgrade. My Dell Dimension 4600 had 512 MB of PC2700 RAM before, and now has 2 GB of PC3200 RAM. My computer definitely performs better, faster, and quieter. Highly recommend this memory upgrade and Crucial as a seller. Great product. Thank you.

 "Amazing product and service!" 2007-12-22
By Ben (Scottsdale, AZ)
"Amazing! I couldn't believe what a difference it made upgrading my Dell Dimension 4600 from a 256MB Ram to a Crucial 2GB Ram. My computer is so much quieter and all the applications as well as the internet run so much faster. The order process was also awesome! I ordered the memory on Friday night and it was at my door step on Monday."

"it works for the acer aspire one aoa 150" 2009-07-22
By Jade (boston ma)
this is the maximum ram upgrade one can do for the acer aspire one. the manufacture max is 1.5 gb of ram and 512mb is on board - unchangeable. by doing this upgrade you are VOIDING your manufacture's warranty for the netbook. installation is easy once you disassemble the netbook completely. this is not for the faint of heart since pratically every screw needs to come off the machine. there is a youtube video somewhere that shows it, easily googled for as well as instructions. all you have to do afterwards is flash the bios by hitting f2 in the boot, see that it's recognized and you're all done. it does make things run a bit smoother as adding more ram usually does. well worth the 21 bucks total i spent to get this.

"Easy Install, but Take Battery Out!" 2009-08-07
By Confederate (Bethesda, MD)
I didn't know until AFTER I changed the memory that I was supposed to take the battery out, but I had no problems. My Asus netbook booted up just fine and functioned fine. And though I have the extra memory, I really can't see a whole lot of difference between 1 gig and 2 gigs. Speed has not improved and things move along about like they did before the upgrade. I suppose if you use high memory aps, something like this would come in handy. On the other hand, with a very small computer, it's entirely possible that you won't need it. Because of delays in order, I used mine without the upgrade for several weeks. Since then, there's been no changed in speed or anything else.

Yes, the 2GB upgrade is cheap, easy to install on my Eee PC, and it does work as advertised.
