I had never heard of a jump drive until a friend of mine who is a programmer told me I needed one, after receiving my gizmo I started putting my pictures on it, I had a large collection of my youngest daughter who had died last year, they all fit and then within 1 week of doing this my computer crashed and if I had not had the gizmo I would have lost them all, I have nothing but praise for this device.

This compact flash memory drive uses the now pretty much standard form for the USB plug in. With a little flashing red LED to tell you its working and when it's safe to remove. It does have a loose cap to protect the connector, but if you're even slightly careful, you shouldn't loose it.
And it works great, first time and every time. I liked it so well I ordered two more. They are all working fine.
My only gripe is how difficult it is to thread the lanyard through the small molded-in hole - I got all three of mine threaded but it needs a little redesign.
Get the Gizmo without the installed software. It's a little cheaper, has slightly more memory and no hassles.

I clocked write speed at about 14 MB/second on windows XP. That's nice. On the downside, it has this incredibly irritating red light that slowly blinks even when the drive is idle! I was ready to take a hammer to the thing until I put black tape around it to hide the light. Now I can't see the light flash when data is read written or read to the drive. Also, it's bulky enough to bump into other USB devices, so you may need to remove them. I did not have either of these problems with my old Memorex 512MB traveldrive, which was only slightly slower.

This drive is fast! I tested its reading and writing speeds and then calculated the speed file size / time in seconds. With my 2GHz Duo Core, XP Home, 2GB Corsair DDR2-667Mhz RAM, 7200RPM HDD machine, I got 13 MB/s writing (as they claimed) and 18.5 MB/s reading.
According to Microsoft's specs, this drive is fast enough for Windows Vista ReadyBoost though I've yet to try it since I'm still running Windows XP.
